An Honest Rocket German Review

An Honest Rocket German Review
By Jane Landrum

Most people have tried to learn a new language before, and know how hard it can be. I thought I should write a review for Rocket German after trying it out for myself. A lot of German language courses claim to be able to help you learn a new language quickly and easily. But with Rocket German in particular, it looks like they aren’t kidding around.

Rocket German is a lot different from the traditional methods of teaching a foreign language. I’ve spent countless hours and hundreds of dollars on other language courses. And of course, I picked up a few things here and there, but was nowhere near fluent after two months of practice. Basic greetings and common nouns just aren’t enough to actually be able to hold a conversation with a native speaker. It was also a big hassle to travel back and forth between the classroom and my home, and as a result after a couple months I lost all interest in continuing to torture myself.

I’m a pretty busy person and need to learn a new language on my own time at at my own convenience. Surely this has to be possible with the advent of the internet. Well, it turns out Rocket German is just the thing I was looking for. The course helps you learn contemporary German, and everything is taught in a way that is actually fun and enjoyable. They are able to make it fun by providing games and audio with the package.

Unsurprisingly, this method of learning is very effective. The catch is that you obviously need to practice on a daily basis to get anywhere with learning a new language. If you’re not having fun learning, it’s going to be very hard to make yourself stick to the program. Luckily, that is what Rocket German is all about — fun and efficient learning. The audio is recorded by a native German speaker, so that you will understand how to pronounce everything correctly. And if you run into any problems, there is a member’s forum online that is ready for any questions that you might have.

Best of all though is the cost. Rocket German is the cheapest top-notch language course that you will find. It is definitely worth all the information and materials that you get with the full package. They also offer a 2 month guaranteed satisfaction policy, or your money back. So you really have nothing to lose by giving it a shot!

Visiting the Great Wall of China – Clothing and Footwear

Visiting the Great Wall of China – Clothing and Footwear
By Natalie Stephan

When visiting the Great Wall of China, clothing is an important consideration. The Great Wall is an amazing achievement, one of the most impressive in the history of humanity. For that reason, those individuals who visit the Great Wall will likely want to spend a great deal of time walking and enjoying the extensive foot paths. To do so, the proper clothing and footwear are absolutely necessary or the experience could be marred by an uncomfortable day in possibly harsh weather conditions.

Clothing for the Great Wall of China

Much of the Great Wall, especially those sections that are most magnificent and well built are built among the mountain passes. These were military structures and for that reason, were built out of necessity not comfort. For that reason, you should wear the appropriate clothing. Assuming you visit the Great Wall during the summer, you should bring light clothing, suitable for hiking and walking in the mountains. Heavier clothing will only make your hike more difficult.

Also, your clothing should be suitably waterproof and wind-resistant as weather conditions in the mountains can be at times highly unpredictable and harsh. You will want clothing that breathes easily, but is not too thin, so that you do not sweat profusely and can remain comfortable while walking.

Footwear for the Great Wall of China

Every route of the Great Wall is slightly different and requires a different approach to foot protection. Primarily, it’s important to note that you should not wear new shoes into the mountainous routes as your feet will likely swell because of the altitude. If you need new hiking shoes, wear them a few times before visiting the Great Wall to break them in. You should always wear some form of hiking boot or waterproof shoes to ensure proper ankle support and traction while walking the sometimes steep paths on the Wall. Be prepared for extensive walking.

Because of the risk of blisters, you should wear thick socks. It is true that cotton socks are at first more comfortable and work better to keep your feet dry by absorbing sweat, but their lack of support will cause you pain in the long run.

Preparation is Key

When preparing to visit any outdoor location in which you might be forced to walk great distances or spend a good deal of time climbing, you should be prepared for the possible outcomes. Carry with you a small bag with extra clothing in case of severe weather and whatever you might need if your feet become blistered. You clothing might seem like a small matter amongst the enormity of visiting the Great Wall, but without the right preparation, you will find it hard to properly enjoy your trip.

A Guide to Chamonix, France

A Guide to Chamonix, France
By Orson Johnson

Chamonix is a town located in the eastern part of France in the Haute-Savoie department. A spotlight was first cast on this little town during the 1924 when they hosted the Winter Olympics and showed the world just how good this hidden gem was for winter sports.

If you still don’t know Chamonix, maybe another name would ring a bell; Mont Blanc.
Yes the town of Chamonix sits right at the foot of Mont Blanc, and without a doubt, Mont Blanc has become the main draw over the years. With Chamonix being famous for its winter sports, its safe to say most of the town is centered on being a key sports hub, in its own quintessential way. If you came for adventure, Chamonix will be your new best friend.

If you visit Chamonix during the winter, you’ve hit the jackpot. From beginners to the experts, take your pick from snow boarding to skiing on Mont Blanc and her sister mountains, go on a snowshoeing track or a glacier decent. Everything and every sport you try out, you can be assured, would feel like a world class experience. Even if you don’t ski, I strongly suggest you take a cable car lift up to peaks like L’Aiguille du Midi, Les Grands Montets and Le col de Balme which offer panoramic views of clouds and mountains and beauty like you’ve never seen.

If you happen to stop by during the spring or summer, fret not, Chamonix is an all year round fantastic place to visit. Go hiking, mountain biking or paragliding if you dare, and enjoy yourself to the extreme; after all when people come to Chamonix, rarely do they ever come for a tranquil peaceful and quiet stay.

A lovely alpine town with a small population of about 100,000 people, Chamonix is like little paradise nestled between the valleys. Take time to walk around and explore Chamonix and you’ll realize what wonderful architecture and history this town is filled with. Visit the alpine museum and exhibition center if you’d like to know more about the history of this valley.

Visit the statue of Horace Benedict de Saussure (initiator of the first ascent of Mont Blanc), proudly displayed in the towns center and when you’ve worked up an appetite at the end of the day, Chamonix’s gastronomy will definitely not disappoint. From local specialties to fine dining and fusion food, you’ll find something to suit your taste in an ambiance that speaks for itself.
